Ronnie Norton, 78, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Martha Norton; two daughters, Phyllis Norton Needham (Paul) and Anita Norton; two sons, David Norton and Dustin Norton (Haley) all of Piedmont; one grandchild, Dylan Brewster; four special grandchildren, Levi Wood, Reagen Wood, Aiden Harris, and Mackinlee Harris; and an uncle, Jack Little (Judy) of Smith's Station. Mr. Norton was a native and lifelong resident of Piedmont, a 1956 graduate of Piedmont High School, and attended Gadsden State Junior College. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a member of the Lozahatchee Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM for over 50 years, and was an avid Alabama fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Rachel Norton. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Venecia Foundation, P.O. Box 752, Piedmont, AL 36272 or Cheaha Regional Humane Society, Inc., 3605 Morrisville Road, Anniston, AL 36201. Per Mr. Norton's wishes, there will be no services.
